This 2010 release of the 1981 classic film casts Sam Worthington (from Avatar fame) as Perseus. This movie is a special effects extravaganza.This film also features Liam Neeson as Zeus. Liam has been in too many films to mention, but sci-fi buffs will recognize him as Qui-Gon Jinn from Star Wars

The new movie, roughly follows the original. Both movies take their own deviations from the Perseus myth, but there is lots to enjoy in both versions. It's hard to imagine that this new movie will become a classic as it's predecessor, but the CGI effects are well worth watching the movie.
